BPC-157 Reconstitution Calculator
Free BPC-157 reconstitution calculator. Enter vial size and water volume to find the concentration per unit. Reference table and step-by-step instructions included.
The calculator for reconstituting BPC-157 provides the concentration of the solution formed when the powder is mixed with sterile bacteriostatic water. You will need to input the size of the vial and the water volume used and calculate the final concentration. Using this method is simple as long as you remember to check the calculations and ensure no mistakes.
How the Calculator Works
The Formula
Concentration (mcg per 0.1ml) = (peptide amount in mg x 1000) / (water volume in ml) x 0.1
This formula first takes milligrams and turns them to micrograms, then divides the value by the total volume of the liquid, and then multiplies the result with draw volume (0.1 ml for every tick of a regular insulin syringe).
Worked Example - 5mg Vial With 2ml Water
5 mg is equivalent to 5000 micrograms. When divided by 2 ml, it results in 2500 micrograms for every ml. If you draw from every 0.1 ml, it will be equal to 250 micrograms. Hence, each tick mark on a 1 ml insulin syringe delivers 250 micrograms of BPC-157.
Common BPC-157 Reconstitution Combinations
The table displays the concentration values for the most commonly used combinations of vials and water. All numbers are based on the assumption of full dissolution of the peptide without any losses during the hydration process.
| Vial (mg) | Water (ml) | mcg per 0.1ml | mcg per ml |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 1 | 500 | 5000 |
| 5 | 2 | 250 | 2500 |
| 5 | 2.5 | 200 | 2000 |
| 10 | 1 | 1000 | 10000 |
| 10 | 2 | 500 | 5000 |
| 10 | 2.5 | 400 | 4000 |
| 10 | 5 | 200 | 2000 |
Step-by-Step Reconstitution for Research
This technique is in accordance with the regular aseptic procedure reported in peptide research literature. It can be used on any lyophilized BPC-157 vials regardless of the producer.
- Gather supplies Lyophilized BPC-157 vial, bacteriostatic water, alcohol swabs, insulin syringe
- Wipe stoppers Swab the rubber stopper on both the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water vial with alcohol. Let dry for 10 seconds
- Draw water Pull the desired volume of bacteriostatic water into the syringe
- Inject slowly along the wall Insert the needle into the peptide vial at an angle and release the water down the inside wall, not directly onto the powder cake
- Swirl gently Tilt and rotate the vial. Do not shake. The powder should dissolve within 1-2 minutes into a clear solution
- Label and refrigerate Write the date, peptide name and concentration on the vial. Store at 2-8C
Storage After Reconstitution
Temperature and Shelf Life
Reconstituted BPC-157 should be stored in a refrigerator at 2-8C (36-46F). Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which inhibits microbial growth but does not sterilize the solution. A 2022 pharmacokinetic study measured an elimination half-life under 30 minutes for the peptide in biological systems, but the shelf life of the reconstituted solution in a sealed vial at refrigerator temperature is a separate question. Most vendors and research protocols suggest using the reconstituted vial within 3-4 weeks.
FAQ - BPC-157 Reconstitution
How much bacteriostatic water do I add?
The volume is determined from the concentration required. If you add 2ml to your 5mg vial to give 250mcg per 0.1ml. If you add 1ml to the vial, you will have 500mcg per 0.1ml. Simply use the calculator above to create the right volume for your requirements.
Does the concentration change with different water volumes?
Absolutely. Increasing the volume of water decreases the concentration of the peptide present in the solution. It doesn’t change the absolute amount of the peptide in the vial itself. A 10mg vial of peptide reconstituted with 2ml (=10mg/2ml) contains the same amount of peptide as one using 5ml. However, when one draws a 0.1ml sample from the reconstituted solution in the 2ml vial, the amount of peptide is 2.5 times more than from the 5ml vial.
How long does reconstituted BPC-157 last?
When stored in a refrigerator at the proper temperature of 2-8C, most vendors and researchers agree that the solution remains stable for 3-4 weeks before becoming ineffective. Preservative in bacteriostatic water slows the growth of organisms; however, it does not stop them from growing forever. If the solution appears cloudy or contains particles, discard it.
Can I use sterile water instead of bacteriostatic water?
Sterile water does not contain preservatives, and so it does not prevent the growth of bacteria once the vial is opened. In case of using sterile water, all the required solution should be extracted only once. Bacteriostatic water is the preferred option in case of multi use vials.
